What we can recover
- Files from a dead computer. If the computer won't boot but the drive is intact, we can often pull all your data off and move it to a new machine.
- Deleted files. Even after you empty the recycle bin, files often remain on the drive until overwritten. The sooner you stop using the drive, the better the recovery odds.
- Failing hard drives. If the drive is making clicking noises or showing errors, time matters. Bring it in fast — every read attempt could be the last.
- Files after a virus or ransomware infection. We can often pull data from infected drives without spreading the infection.
- Photos from old computers, phones, and SD cards.
- Files from a Windows install that won't boot.
- Data from external hard drives that "stopped working."
What to do RIGHT NOW if you've lost important files
Stop using the drive immediately. The more you write to a drive after data loss, the higher the chance lost files get overwritten and become unrecoverable. Power the computer down and bring it in.
Our data recovery process
- Free diagnosis. We assess the drive's health, identify what's recoverable, and quote a flat price before any recovery attempts.
- Image first, recover second. For dying drives, we make a forensic image first so we're working from a copy, not the failing drive.
- Multiple recovery tools. Different failures need different approaches. We use professional-grade software to maximize what comes back.
- Verify and deliver. We confirm you can open the recovered files before you pay, and transfer them to a new drive or external storage you provide.
What about physically broken drives?
If a drive has failed mechanically (bent platters, burnt circuit board, dropped on concrete), it sometimes needs a clean room recovery from a specialty lab. We'll honestly tell you when that's the case and refer you to a trusted lab — we don't pretend to do work we can't do well.
How much does data recovery cost?
Logical recoveries (deleted files, corrupted system, accidental format) are typically much less than people fear. Physical drive failures with healthy electronics are also reasonably priced. We always quote the price up front after a free diagnosis — no recovery attempt happens until you say yes.
Can you guarantee my files come back?
Honest answer: nobody can. What we can guarantee is that we'll do our absolute best, give you a real assessment of what's recoverable, and never charge you for recovery that didn't work. If we can't get your files back, you don't pay for the recovery attempt.
